DIY Hand Sanitizer

On Guard, doTerra On Guard, DIY Hand Sani

Recipe:
Gather:
Spray Bottle (you can use a high quality BPA free bottle since you're significantly diluting the essential oil)
Pure Water
Essential Oil I used dōTerra On-Guard
Witch Hazel with Aloe or Plain Aloe Gel
Epsom Salts

Step 1)Figure out how much pure water your spray bottle will hold. Then pour out 4T to make room for your other ingredients. Place the water you're keeping into a glass measuring cup

Step 2) Add 15 drops of essential oils
Step 3)  Add 2T Witch Hazel with Aloe
Step 4)  Add 1T epsom salts (to help the oil/water stay blended)

Be sure to use GLASS when mixing essential oil recipes, as the oils WILL eat your plastic containers if  they're not highly diluted!!

An Essential Oil Blend for Energy and Happiness

Wake Up and Be Happy Blend

We all need some "good vibes" and great feelings and this blend is PERFECT for that. Not to mention, people are going to stop you in the street and ask why you smell so delicious.

Here's how I made it, using dōTerra essential oils, of course. They're my favorite. Easy to use, Therapeutic Grade and completely medicinal.

In a glass roller bottle:
7 drops Wild Orange
2 drops Frankincense
3 drops Peppermint
4 drops Lime

I hope you enjoy it! ~Janice

Being Nice to Your Liver is Easy with Essential Oils

lemon oil, liver detox, how to detoxify your liver
Super Easy Lemon Liver detox

It seems that everywhere I turn, someone is talking about doing a "detox." Some are more harsh, giving up coffee, sugar, white flour products, and all processed foods, alcohol, etc. We need to psych ourselves up to manage such a drastic lifestyle change!
Others I've tried include the use of medicinal protien shakes. I've done both of these and a few other too-crazy-to-admit cleanses, and while they do WORK, they require a serious commitment. Then, once you accept a handful of french fries from your kid, or go out for a drinkie-poo with your pals, the de-tox is officially "done" and you feel like you have to start all over.

I thought "there must be an easier way" and that's when I came across this really simple plan that can be integrated into anyone's lifestyle quite easily.

Others who have tried this report increased energy levels, better emotion regulation and a reduction in body pain. Your doctor can help you monitor the results of any liver cleanse.

Here's the plan for a liver detox:

·    1 tablespoon of organic Lemon juice
·    1 drop each of Lemon and Peppermint essential oils*
·    1 drop Coriander essential oils if necessary for addictions (you don't need this unless you have, say, a sugar, drug, nicotine or alcohol addiction)
·    2-4 ounces of purified water
·    Daily, drink first thing in the morning
·    Time period: indefinite

*keep in mind all of my recommendations assume that you are using high quality essential oils (like dōTerra) that are certified pure and specifically say that they are safe to ingest.

DIY Personal Care & Baby Wipes

Making your own wipes is easy

Commercial makeup remover and baby wipes are loaded with chemicals and isoprophyl alcohol. Why expose your intimate areas to chemicals? I think not!

With just a few ingredients, you'll be able to make your own. Be careful with your plumbing---I'll leave it up to you in terms of flushing these down the toilet.

Here's the recipe for Wipes
a special "shout out" to New Directions Aromatics for the inspiration
This is a great “wipe” recipe for removing makeup, for wiping babies bottoms, for post-partum and for anyone who suffers from hemorrhoids. Sometimes commercial wipes can cause more pain as well as expose us to unnecessary chemical toxins.
Imperial
Ingredients
Metric
2 c.
Distilled Water (warm)
500 ml
2 T.
Carrier Oil see below for type
30 ml
1 T.
Liquid Castile Soap Base
15 ml
2 drops
Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca)
2 drops
1 roll
Paper Towels (sturdy)
1 roll

Cut the paper towel roll in half with a non-serrated knife. Place the half roll into a container (such as a large zip top plastic bag, empty baby wipe container or a glass or plastic storage container) with the cut end down.

Mix all ingredients together and pour over the paper towel in the container. Wait a few minutes for the inner cardboard tube to get soaked and then pull that out. Find the end of the paper towel in the center, and feed it up through a cross you have cut into the lid of the container.

The Tea tree oil is perfect for acne, for healing unhappy skin and as a powerful yet gentle antiseptic.

Alternative recipes:
Witch hazel could be used instead of water for hemorrhoids and post-partum wipes, and the oil could be Coconut, Grapeseed, Hemp Seed, or Black Cumin Seed Oil.

The carrier oil should be gentle enough for baby’s skin, and may include Hemp Seed, Oat, and Sweet Almond Oils.

Castile soap comes in many scents. Choose the unscented variety for babies. The Peppermint variety will be “hot” on the skin. Lavender would be another option if you like how lavender and melaleuca smell together.

Colorful kids hands

Anti-Bacterial Soap & Hand Sanitizer

Linked with Medical Conditions

The chemical Triclosan has been linked with infertility, early puberty, hormone imbalance, heart function problems, thyroid issues and more

Triclosan is found in anything and everything that's

labeled "anti-bacterial." This includes soaps, hand

sanitizer, tissues, and even anti-microbial clothing!

Check your labels and consider throwing away anything

 with this chemical additive!

So here's a little suggestion: If you're a Mom or a

Grandma, or even a Dad you've probably got hand

sanitizer stashed everywhere. Get yourself some spray

bottles and make your own hand sani. You'll know

exactly what you're spraying on your family!

DIY Hand Sani Recipe
Why Not Make Your Own Hand Sanitizer?

Here's my recipe for Hand Sanitizer

(Kills all of the germs without the nasty toxins)

Items you'll need

8 ounces of pure water
On Guard Bottle

1 T Epsom Salts

1T Unscented Witch Hazel

15 drops of doTerra On Guard blend*

Glass spray bottle**

Mix it all together and pour into your bottle. Place a label on the bottle so you'll

know what's inside. Always shake the bottle before using.

*On Guard protective blend contains: Wild Orange Peel,

Clove Bud, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus leaf/stem and

Rosemary leaf/flower.

And here's what the finished product can look like

(I printed the label on plain paper from my printer, cut it out and attached it to the bottle with nice wide packing tape)

I hope you enjoyed making your own hand-sani. Won't

your friends think you're fabulous?
